Before anything else, memorize the hand rankings: Royal Flush (A-K-Q-J-10 same suit) > Straight Flush > Four of a Kind > Full House > Flush > Straight > Three of a Kind > Two Pair > One Pair > High Card. Betting Strategy Basics
Value betting: When you have a strong hand, bet to get paid. Size your bets at 50-75% of the pot. Bluffing: Choose spots where the board favors your range, not when you're desperate. Bluff less than you think — beginners bluff too much. Pot odds: If you need to call $10 to win a $40 pot, you're getting 4:1 odds.
